ON THE TOP OF THE WORLD

Deep in the far north of India, at an altitude of over 4000 metres, the world manifests a very special reality.

Animals and natural settings coexist in the most extreme conditions.

«Its nomadic inhabitants, immersed in a unique mysticism, the mysticism of Dharma, must unconditionally adapt to the laws that nature dictates, and with it the mind becomes silent and the heart humbly observes the tremendous force, unity and interdependence of all phenomena, the elements, of all beings.»

The exhibition is made up of 26 images in 50 x 30 format taken in 35mm and printed on rice paper.

This is the result of a three-month trip, which began in Kathmandu – Nepal and continued, for a large part of the time, in Ladhak – India.

The city where I lived was Leh and this was the starting point « the base of operations » from where we planned where to sleep, what to eat and the extra gasoline we needed for the trips we made with three soul friends I met there.

The images, places, people and animals, appear after several days of going by motorcycle, through the internal routes of the Himalayas in the deep northeast (Pakistan – Afghanistan border).

All the images are printed on rice paper obtained in Kathmandu – Nepal and printed with pigment ink (special ink) in McLeod – Ganj – India.

The camera I used is a Rollei TE, 35mm.
